Since Ard Wubben started his tomato nursery in 1984, his company has grown consistently in size. In around 1995, he was one of many growers to make the switch from beef tomatoes to tomatoes on the vine; a result of German criticism at the time which unfairly referred to Dutch tomatoes as ‘Water bombs'. “Back then it was a hype, as they had more flavour." Now he’s a seasoned grower of tomatoes on the vine.
