Meindert-Jan Botman joined his parent’s company in 2006 and took the reins in 2015. Since then, he has run the company with his wife Maaike. What defines their company? “I’m very reliable and consistent in what I do. Qualitatively, I always deliver a good product. I don’t need to expand the company. In its current form, we can successfully run the company together, and I really enjoy my job.”
The best aspect to his work is the variety involved. “I have to deal with many different aspects every day. The weather, staff, working conditions, irrigation, fertilisation, planting and harvesting, packing and sales. It requires keeping a lot of balls in the air. It can be very intensive, but also wonderful and rewarding.
