The company owned by Wilfried Vermeiren from Loenhout in Flanders has cultivated courgettes since 1988. I have owned this nursery, which was started by my parents, since 1997. Initially in 1969 they grew tomatoes and strawberries. In 1988 we switched to growing yellow and green courgettes.
In 1995 I joined one of the predecessors of Oxin Growers. So, I could possibly be the longest serving member! Marketing is one of the main reasons for joining a grower's association. It makes me feel more sure of myself in my dealings with traders.
